DateCue ("we", "our", or "us") is a Shopify app developed and operated by Ripen Studio. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect information when you install and use DateCue.
1. Who we are
DateCue is operated by Ripen Studio. If you have any questions about this policy, contact us at privacy@datecue.store.
2. What data we collect
When you install DateCue, we collect and store the following information:
- Shop domain — your Shopify store's domain (e.g. yourstore.myshopify.com)
- Access token — a Shopify API access token that allows DateCue to read and update your products. This token is encrypted at rest using AES-256-GCM encryption.
- Product data — product titles, handles, statuses, tags, and metafield values for products that match your workflows. This data is synced from Shopify and used to schedule and execute your automations.
- Workflow configuration — the workflows you create, including metafield names, trigger rules, action settings, and filters.
- Execution logs — records of actions DateCue has performed, including the product, workflow, scheduled time, result, and any error messages.
- Billing status — your current subscription plan and billing status, received via Shopify webhook.
- Email addresses — only if you configure an email action in a workflow. These addresses are used solely to send the alerts you configure.
We do not collect or store any customer (end-shopper) personal data. DateCue operates entirely on merchant-side product and configuration data.
3. How we use your data
We use the data we collect solely to provide the DateCue service:
- To sync your products and monitor metafield dates
- To schedule and execute workflow actions on your behalf
- To send email alerts you have configured
- To display execution logs and dashboard statistics in the app
- To manage your subscription and billing status
We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties for marketing purposes.
4. Data storage and security
Your data is stored in a PostgreSQL database hosted on Railway infrastructure in the European Union. We take the following security measures:
- Shopify access tokens are encrypted at rest using AES-256-GCM encryption
- All data is transmitted over HTTPS/TLS
- Access to the database is restricted to the DateCue application
- We use Sentry for error monitoring — error reports may include non-personal technical data
5. Data retention
We retain your data for as long as DateCue is installed on your store. If you uninstall DateCue:
- Your session and access token are deleted immediately upon uninstall
- All remaining shop data (products, workflows, logs) is deleted within 48 hours in compliance with Shopify's GDPR requirements
6. Your rights (GDPR)
If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), you have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Right of access — you can request a copy of the data we hold about your store
- Right to rectification — you can ask us to correct inaccurate data
- Right to erasure — you can request deletion of your data at any time by uninstalling the app or contacting us
- Right to data portability — you can request your data in a portable format
- Right to object — you can object to processing of your data

7. Third-party services
DateCue uses the following third-party services to operate:
- Shopify — the platform DateCue is built on. Subject to Shopify's Privacy Policy.
- Railway — hosting and database infrastructure (EU region)
- Resend — email delivery for workflow email actions
- Sentry — application error monitoring
- BetterStack — uptime monitoring
8. Cookies
DateCue is an embedded Shopify app and does not use cookies on this website or in the app beyond what Shopify requires for authentication.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify merchants of any material changes via the app or email. Continued use of DateCue after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
